Family School
The Schools have four fundamental objectives: to improve knowledge of the disease, to optimize the degree of social and community participation regarding the search for resources for their relatives, to promote a more suitable family climate and to reduce the subjective family burden.
It is normal that, when receiving a diagnosis, we find ourselves with uncertainty and ignorance about what we have just been told. These schools are characterized by being 2-month programs focused on knowledge of psychosis and schizophrenia and have 8 sessions:
Introduction to the School of Families.
- Opening.
- Stigma and self-stigma.
- Schizophrenia: concepts, types and evolution.
- Social Care Network and legal protection of people with disabilities and psychosocial resources.
- Schizophrenia: causes and symptoms
- Problem solving and expressed emotion.
- Disability and dependency.
- Closing
